Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: "How many weddings do you do a year?"

A: I book 20-24 weddings a year. Because I take pride in my work of art and consider each wedding day a master piece, I only book up to 2 weddings per month. This is done, so that your wedding images receive the post processing time they deserve and so I can work with each bride to design her wedding album.

Q: "When will I receive my full wedding gallery?"

A: The contract states that your wedding gallery will be ready in 8 Weeks!

Q: "Do you have an assistant or second shooter with you on the wedding day?"

A: It depends on the wedding collection chosen. A second shooter may be added for an additional fee! Having a second shooter allows me to pay full attention to the bride and groom while they can pay full attention to family and guests. This also gives you two different perspectives of your special day!

Q: "Do you book any other events on our wedding day?"

A: Never. I strive to focus only on you and fulfilling your wedding day vision.

Q: "Do you meet with us before the wedding?"

A: Yes. I will meet with you  for a pre-wedding consultation where I will listen to your ideas, get to know you and your fiancé as a couple and as individuals, understand your wedding day vision, help you stay organized, and guide you through the whole planning process so that you have the most enjoyable and stress-free wedding day! We will also chat a month before your wedding, where I will guide through designing your wedding day timeline.

Q: “Do you deliver every image you shoot?”

A: No I don't deliver every image shot. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. With my expertise in processing thousands of images each year, I may eliminate ones that I feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one.

Q: “Do you do destination weddings? What additional fees are associated with destination weddings?”

A: While Maite Photography is based out of Phoenix and Show Low, Arizona, I serve clients all around the world! My destination wedding collections are simply my standard collections plus the cost of travel and reasonable accommodations if necessary. Because of my frequent trips to the Show Low, Heber, Pinetop-Lakeside area,  special, lower rates may apply depending on the specific circumstances. Email me maitemphotography@gmail.com for details and ask about it!

Q: “Does your studio do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, commercial photography, or other types of photography?”

A: Although my specialty is wedding photography, I do offer those additional services if I am available.

STYLE AND QUALITY QUESTIONS

Q: “What is your photography style?”

A: Maite Photography is acclaimed for developing a unique style of wedding photography that is deeply rooted in wedding photojournalism while being influenced by nature, romance, and your story. I love developing relationships with my clients to truly get to know them and be able to provide a boutique experience that is special to them. I pride myself on not just being a photographer, but rather an artist creating unique and expressive imagery.

Q: “Can I see a full event from start to finish?”

A: Of course you may! I pride myself on the consistency of my work. I understand all photographers put up their best shots from each wedding on their websites so it’s hard to determine how well he or she will perform on the wedding day. That is why I encourage all of our potential clients to view full events to see how well I perform throughout the day.

Q: “My venue is really dark. How does your studio handle these situations and can I see samples?”

A: I have shot in the darkest of dark chapels and reception halls so no need to worry! If the situation allows, I will set up additional lighting to ensure I get bright crisp pictures. Some chapels do not allow for flash photography; and for that reason, I shoot on camera’s with superb low-light performance and lenses with low apertures.

POST PRODUCTION QUESTIONS

Q: “Do you touch up all the images on our USB Drive?”

A: Yes I do. Every image I deliver is post produced with my unique style of basic post production. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, and other corrections. Special retouching services are available for an extra fee.

Q: “Do you shoot in JPEG, Small Raw, or Large Raw?”

A: I shoot all of my images in Large Raw. However, when I deliver your images, they will be in JPEG format. I do not deliver Raw Images.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION QUESTIONS

Q: “When can we expect to see our photo’s from our engagement session?”

A: Post production for engagement sessions are completed 1 month after the date of the shoot. If you require the images to be completed prior to the 1 month after the date of the shoot, a rush-process fee of $100.00 will be charged.

Q: “When should we do our engagement session?”

A: I encourage you to do your engagement session as soon as possible. The recommended time to do them is 6-8 months before your wedding date, specially if you are planning to send save the dates.

Q: “Can we schedule our engagement session for the weekend?”

Because most weddings occur on weekends, I am not able to shoot engagement sessions on weekends. If you can only do your engagement session on weekends, I can tentatively schedule your engagement session on a weekend, however, if a wedding is scheduled for that weekend later on, I will have to reschedule your engagement session.

Q: “How many images do you typically deliver from and engagement session? From a wedding?”

I typically deliver anywhere approx. 100 images per 2 hour engagement shoot and for weddings I typically deliver 100 images per hour.

Q: “When and where can we view our engagement pictures?”

Your engagement session images will be completed within 4 weeks after the date of the shoot. The next day, they will uploaded onto your online gallery. You will receive an email once the gallery is ready for viewing. The image CD will be sent out the following Monday from the session date. If you require the images to be completed prior to four weeks after the date of your shoot, a rush-process fee of $100.00 will be charged, unless other terms were discussed.

Q: “What type of camera/equipment do you use?”

BUSINESS INSURANCE AND IMAGE BACKUP QUESTIONS

Q: “Do you backup our images? How can we ensure that our images won’t be lost?”

A: I have never lost an image from a wedding due to the following backup workflow for each my events:
During the shoot, I back up on a Silicon Power external hard drive after each major event throughout the day. This leaves one copy on the CF cards and creates one copy on the Silicon External Hard Drive. Once the images are completed I upload the images to a offsite location and burn another copy for my archives. At any given point, there are two copies of the files.

Q: “Do you have liability insurance?”

A: Yes. Many venues require the photographer to have Liability Insurance. So before hiring Uncle Joe, make sure he’s covered.

Q: “We’re really busy and won’t be able to meet. Are there any other options?”
